Forests of the Amazon is home to over a million animal species. It supports a complex of ecological systems and is also home to 40 different species of monkeys. Amongst these are the Muriqui, the Golden Lion Tamarins, and the Peruvian Yellow Tail Monkey. The largest threat to the survival of these species still comes from man and it's ability to change the face of the earth, driving these animals out of their habitats and straight into extinction. A campaighn to protect and help forests of the earth was launched in 1982, sponsored by WWF. In the following year, WWF launched an expedition to find and photograph the Peruvian Yellow Tail Monkey in it's habitat. It's habitat protected by the clouds of the forest, hence it's name.. "monkey of the clouds", is quickly disappearing.
