As stressed in the September 1991 "Policy Statement" of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Development: "the incorporation of 'Environment' in the new name of this Ministry expresses the serious concerns that this Government has over a number of environmental issues and particularly over the potential dangers of 'sea level rise'."
