Sea turtles have survived for more than 100 years. Today, only a few species remain as it nears extinction. Many factors have contributed to this, however, the most notable one is that of human activity. With the Tourism Industry growing every year, large numbers of turtles are caught, killed and sold for their commercial value. Here, we look at a study carried out by Dr. Colin Lympus of Australia. A study highly educational and useful in it's ability to develop a better understanding and appreciation for this endangered marine animal close to extinction. His study included determining growth rates, nesting habits, tagging and measuring methods.
